The work environment
The position is located at the QUEST Center for Transforming Biomedical Research at BIH, within the newly established CAMARADES Berlin team. It will involve contributing to the establishment of a facility for the systematic review and meta-analysis of animal studies to support the 3Rs (replacement, reduction and refinement) of animal use in research at the Charité.
QUEST aims at optimizing biomedical research with respect to scientific methodology, bioethics, and accessibility of research. Our approach includes research as well as services in the fields of Metaresearch, Bioethics, Quality assurance, Education, Open Science, Rewards and incentives, Bioethics, and Patient and Stakeholder Engagement. What needs to be done
- Develop and deliver educational material on the methods and benefits of preclinical systematic review and meta-analysis, e.g. workshops, lectures
- Provide individualised methodological support to researchers undertaking systematic review and meta-analysis of animal studies within varied biomedical fields
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a system to review and monitor over time the robustness and reporting (e.g. randomisation, blinding) of Charité in vivo animal research
Your skills
- Completed training in medicine, life sciences or relevant denomination
- Interest in contributing to the 3Rs (replacement, reduction and refinement) of animal use in research
- Interest in preclinical meta-research
- Ability to independently manage projects
- Organised and structured way of working
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Very good level of English required
- Experience in metaresearch in the field of biomedical research advantageous
- In vivo biomedical animal research experience advantageous
- Teaching experience advantageous
- Computing skills (biostatistical and programming applications) advantageous
- German language advantageous
